The Yacht-Master 40 combines Rolex's maritime-inspired design with the refined character of Rolesium, an exclusive pairing of Oystersteel and platinum. Its bidirectional rotating bezel, crafted from 950 platinum, features a 60-minute graduated scale with raised numerals, creating a distinctive interplay of polished surfaces and textured detailing.

The slate dial features Rolex's Chromalight display, delivering long-lasting blue luminescence for enhanced legibility. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops magnifying lens protects the instantaneous date display, while the Oyster case construction and Triplock screw-down winding crown provide water resistance to 100 metres.
