Recently, we delivered a Rolex 36mm in gold and diamonds—a pristine store-display piece—to one of our customers in Mumbai. It was a remarkable watch, selected with care and delivered with complete confidence. A few days later, the unexpected happened. The date and time adjustment mechanism stopped functioning properly.It would have been easy to describe it as a minor mechanical issue. It would have been convenient to offer a repair, ask the customer to wait and consider the matter resolved. But luxury should never be about what is convenient for the brand. It should be about what is right for the customer. We immediately took the watch back and returned it to our Rolex dealer abroad. After inspecting the piece, our dealer replaced it with another watch. Not repaired.Not temporarily adjusted.Replaced.
