Introducing The GOAT: Ricky Carmichael
Hall of Fame
No one has ever been as consistent or won as many professional American championships as Ricky has in his career. He is popularly known as the Greatest of All Time in AMA Motocross and nicknamed as "The G.O.A.T." He was the most dominant rider ever and never failed to defend a title, which is why he is the only rider in AMA Motocross with an undefeated season at the sport's top level, a feat he accomplished an astounding 3 times, in 2002, 2004, and 2005. He was the AMA Pro Racing Athlete of the Year five times: 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006. On track, his fierce attitude and sportsmanship made him the most highly respected person in the sport.
Carmichael's first bike was a Valentine's Day present by his parents at the age of 5. He then entered the racing world with deep and abiding desire to cross the finish line first. The pudgy red-haired kid from Florida ripped the racing world with complete domination in American amateur ranks winning an incredible 67 titles over the following 10 years. In 1996, he turned pro and earned AMA Rookie of the Year. One thing that never changed along the road to success was his desire to be on top and for that he never compromised with training and hard work was his only mantra.
Born to Ride
Ricky Carmichael has more combined AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross National wins than any other rider in history. From 1997 to 2006, he won the championship series title each year and he has re-written the record books in the sport of AMA Motocross! In 2002, he recorded the first perfect season in AMA motocross history by earning 24 straight Moto victories for 12 overall wins in the premier class and repeated this in 2004. When he retired, he had 150 AMA National wins and in 2015, he was inducted in the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. After retiring in 2007 he opened Ricky Carmichael University to give back to the motor sports what he learned on the track over the years.
