Amma: The Divine Mother
Meditation is as precious as gold. It not only gives material prosperity but spiritual upliftment and peace of mind. Only still mind can be creative and resemble the universal mind.
Along with our meditation if we develop compassion, it is like gold with a fragrance, something priceless and utterly unique.
Meditation is like digging a well. If we stop digging, the mud will start piling up. Similarly if we stop meditating the negative tendencies will creep in.
Humility means obedience, surrendering one's ego & leading a life in submission to the Divine. If everything is accepted as Divine or Guru's wish then Humility will manifest spontaneously. When seed sown beneath the soil it feels "I am nothing, I am nobody" then the seedling sprouts. Humility is needed if you want to sprout the real "I".
Only a person who is completely detached can love others without any expectations. Attachment is not an aspect of real love. In real love not only the bodies but the souls are united. Every emotion has it's vibrations. Pure love has uplifting vibration.
When we pray for others, entire universe prays for us.
To remember God, you have to forget. To be really focused on God is to be fully and absolutely in the present moment, forgetting the past and the future. That alone is real prayer.
Only in the depth of pure silence can we hear God’s voice.
Anyone woman or man, who has the courage to overcome the limitations of the mind can attain the state of universal motherhood. The qualities of motherhood are a woman’s birthright. The state of awakened motherhood is a love and compassion felt not only towards one’s own children, but towards all people, animals, plants, rocks and rivers, a love extended to all of nature, to all beings. To a woman in whom the state of true motherhood has awakened, all creatures are her children. This love, this motherhood, is Divine Love.
Like other decisions. Happiness is also a decision. I will be happy irrespective of what happens. God is always with me. Laughter is good for our hearts. Seriousness is a disease, and we should try to leave it and allow ourselves to laugh more. Laughter is good for the health.
Disciplining is not mental bondage. It's like putting a fence around a sampling till it grows. It protects from external factors. Once the tree is strong even elephant can be tied to it. Discipline is a staircase to rise in spirituality.
Amma says "I don’t say I can do it 100 percent. Attempting to change the world completely is like trying to straighten the curly tail of a dog. But society takes birth from people. So by affecting individuals, you can make changes in the society and, through it, in the world. You cannot change it, but you can make changes. The fight in individual minds is responsible for the wars. So if you can touch people, you can touch the world."
